Jackson County, Kansas

Jackson County sits in northeast Kansas, not far from Topeka. The Flint Hills meet the glaciated region, which creates a unique landscape. Holton serves as the county seat.
Prairie Creek Lake is a local favorite for fishing and camping. You’ll see cattle grazing on native grasses alongside fields of corn and soybeans. There’s a strong Native American presence here.
The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation calls this place home. Their casino brings in visitors from all over. Farming’s not easy, but it’s a way of life in Jackson County. Neighbors. It’s the kind of place where you can leave your doors unlocked at night. Not that you’d want to tempt fate, mind you.
