Lyon County is out in western Kentucky. The county is famous for being home to part of Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
This recreational area is squeezed between two huge lakes. While Lake Barkley is on the east side, Kentucky Lake is on the west side.
Eddyville is the county seat with Mineral Mound State Park as a centerpiece. But it’s a quiet county with a population of around 9,000. U.S. Route 62 and I-24 run through the county. Overall, it’s a small county with a big natural playground.
