Marshall County, Illinois

Marshall County is a bite of rural Illinois in the north-central part of the state. The Illinois River basically splits this county in two pieces. While Lacon, the county seat, is to the east, Sparland is on the west.
This is heartland America with farms dominating the landscape. The county is broken up by patches of woodland and winding creeks. You’ll find some of the best walleye fishing in the state on the river.
Its history is tied to the river as it was a major transportation route in the early days. Hunting and fishing are big draws here. Marshall County is a quiet place with scenic views along the Illinois River.
