Stark County, Illinois
Stark County is a tiny patch of rural Illinois, sandwiched between Peoria and the Quad Cities. Toulon is the county seat, located on the west side. It’s as small as it comes.
The Spoon River runs through the southern part of the county. It’s popular for fishing and canoeing when the water’s up. Toulon Historical Museum takes you back in time.
The population’s small. It’s one of the least populous counties in the state with around 5,000 people. Everyone knows everyone here, which makes for some awkward moments when you try to keep a secret.
