Motley County, Texas

Motley County sits right in the middle of the Texas Plains. Matador is the county seat, which sounds like something out of an old Western… and in many ways, it is.
Ranching is still a way of life here. The county’s small, with just over a thousand folks calling it home. But what it lacks in population, it makes up for in character.
The Caprock Escarpment cuts through the area, creating some dramatic views. There’s not much nightlife, but the stargazing is out of this world. If you want to experience the real Texas, this is the place to do it.
