Scott County, Illinois
Scott County is in west-central Illinois, right up against the Illinois River. Winchester is a village and the county seat. The land is mostly flat, with some gentle hills near the river.
The Illinois River on the west side provides some recreation opportunities. Fishing and boating are popular when the weather’s good. The pace of life is slow. Really slow. But for people who live here, that’s a big part of the appeal.
Interstate 72 cuts through the county. Scott County isn’t flashy or famous. It’s just a quiet corner of Illinois with lots of hard working individuals who value family and tradition.
