Sheridan County, Nebraska

Sheridan County is way up in northwest Nebraska. It’s part of the Sandhills region. Gordon’s the biggest town, but Rushville is the county seat.
Ranching is a big deal here. Cattle outnumber people. The landscape’s all rolling hills and grasslands. It’s beautiful, in a stark sort of way.
There’s a bunch of small lakes scattered around. It’s good for fishing, if that’s your thing. The population’s been shrinking for years. But those who stay? They love it here. It’s home.
