Borden County, Texas

Borden County is out in northwest Texas. It has wide open spaces stretch as far as the eye can see. It’s one of the least populous counties in Texas. Gail is the only town. It’s tiny with a lot of heart.
Oil and ranching keep things going. The land is rugged and beautiful in its own way. Mesquite and prickly pear are everywhere on the landscape. You can see for miles.
The Mushaway Peak is the highest point here. Not much rain falls here. But when it does, wildflowers bloom. It’s quiet out here. Peaceful. It’s the kind of place where you can hear yourself think.
