Missouri Counties

The Ozarks region of southern Missouri is home to Howell County. West Plains serves as the county seat with its two major highways.

Iron County is deep in the heart of the Ozarks. The county’s named after the iron ore deposits that once made it an important mining hub.

Kansas City dominates the western edge of Jackson County. It’s an urban center, home to world-class barbecue and jazz.

Jasper County is located in the southwest, neighboring the state of Kansas. It’s known for Joplin’s mining and robbers Bonnie and Clyde.

Jefferson County is just south of St. Louis. The Mississippi River forms its eastern border, separating it from the state of Illinois.

The west-central part of Missouri is home to Johnson County. It’s a place where small towns and wide-open spaces coexist beautifully.

Knox County is situated in northeast Missouri. The county seat is Edina, situated in the center. It’s known for its courthouse square.

Laclede County is located in the middle of Missouri. Lebanon, the county seat, sits right on historic Route 66 with some pretty scenic drives.

Lafayette County is east of Kansas City in the heart of the state’s western region. This county boasts some of the most fertile soil.

Southwest Missouri is home to Lawrence County, a place with rural beauty. It’s not huge. Just over 38,000 folks call it home.

Lewis County is tucked away in the northeast corner of Missouri. It’s situated right along the Mississippi River, bordering Illinois.

Lincoln County is on the eastern edge of Missouri, bordering Illinois. It’s part of the St. Louis metro area. This place is growing fast.

Linn County lies in the heart of north-central Missouri. The county seat is Linneus. Pershing State Park is a great fishing spot.

ivingston County is in the middle of northern Missouri. It’s a rural area known for its wide-open farmland and small, close-knit communities.

Macon County is in the northern part of Missouri. This place has a bit of everything. Rolling hills, farms for days, and friendly folks.
