Cheyenne County, Colorado

Cheyenne Location Map Colorado

Cheyenne County is out on Colorado’s eastern plains, bordering Kansas. It’s not the typical Colorado landscape that we are used to. Instead, it’s flat farmland as far as the eye can see. Wheat fields stretch to the horizon.

Cheyenne Wells is the county seat, but it’s a small town like everywhere else here. Hunting is popular, especially for pheasants and deer. There’s some cattle ranching too. The population is small and shrinking, only about 1,700 folks in the whole county.

The area has some interesting history tied to the Old West and homesteaders. People here are proud of their rural roots and tight-knit community. It’s quiet out here, with wide-open skies and amazing stargazing. Life moves at a slower pace in Cheyenne County.
