Coffee County, Alabama

Coffee Location Map Alabama

Coffee County is in southeast Alabama. There are two county seats here, including Enterprise and Elba. No, it’s not named after the drink. The name comes from General John Coffee, a prominent military leader in the War of 1812.

Known as the “City of Progress,” Enterprise is famous for its Boll Weevil Monument. The bug destroyed cotton crops but made farmers switch to peanuts. It saved the economy. Only in Alabama, right?

Fort Novosel (formerly Fort Rucker) is right next door. This big army base is for helicopter training so you’ll see choppers flying around a lot. About 55,000 folks call it home.
