Down in southwest Arkansas, Columbia County is oil country. Magnolia is the county seat, and is home to Southern Arkansas University. The county is named after the famous explorer, Christopher Columbus.

The World’s Longest Barbecue on Wheels is in Magnolia. Emerson hosts the annual PurpleHull Pea Festival and World Championship Rotary Tiller Race. It’s as ridiculous and fun as it sounds.

You can explore Lake Columbia or the Logoly State Park. This is Arkansas’s first environmental education state park. There’s also the Magnolia Blossom Festival and World Championship Cook-Off here.
