Cullman County is in north Alabama with Cullman as the county seat. It was founded by German immigrants and you can still see the influence. They have an Oktoberfest every year. Lederhosen optional.

Lewis Smith Lake is a big draw which is good for fishing and boating. It’s one of the cleanest lakes in the country. The Ave Maria Grotto is here. It’s a park full of miniature replicas of famous buildings.

Interstate 65 runs right through the county for driving to either Birmingham or Huntsville. The county is named after Colonel John G. Cullmann, a German immigrant and founder of the city of Cullman.
