Morgan County is located in the northern section of Alabama. Decatur is its largest city with about 125,000 residents in the county.
The Tennessee River forms its northern border, creating Wheeler Lake and its popular recreation area. Point Mallard Park has a golf course, campgrounds, and sports complex.
Interstate 65 and U.S. Highway 31 run through, connecting the county to Huntsville and Birmingham. Make sure you pack binoculars if you visit the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge.
