Crawford County stretches along the Oklahoma border in western Arkansas. Van Buren is the county seat, and has a historic district on the Arkansas River.

The city of Van Buren is known for its “Great Arkansas Cleanup”. It’s an annual environmental event that’s become a model for the state.

People here like to visit Lake Fort Smith State Park for camping, fishing, and hiking. The county is also home to part of the Ozark National Forest for even more opportunities for recreation.
