Leslie County, Kentucky

Leslie County is in the Appalachian mountains of eastern Kentucky. Hyden is the county seat and it’s about as small-town as it gets.
The county is mostly part of the Daniel Boone National Forest. This area is great for hiking if you don’t mind a few hills.
There’s a cool little museum about the area’s coal mining history. The Redbird Crest Trail is popular with hikers and ATV riders who want to explore the rugged terrain. Leslie County is the kind of place where the mountains feel like home, and nature is always just a step away.
