McCreary County, Kentucky

McCreary County is tucked away in southern Kentucky, right on the Tennessee border. Whitley City is the county seat but it’s not officially a city or town.
The county is mostly a national forest. It’s great for hiking and camping. There’s a cool scenic railway if you want to see the sights without the sweat.
The Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is a major attraction. It’s all about adventure and escape. But it’s Daniel Boone National Forest that covers this county.
