Mineral County, Colorado
Mineral County is tiny, as in like, smallest-county-in-Colorado tiny. It is tucked up in the San Juan Mountains in the south.
Creede is the only real town, and it has this cool old mining history. The place is all about outdoor recreation. You have got the Rio Grande running through for fishing, and Wolf Creek Ski Area is partly in the county.
It gets more snow than anywhere else in Colorado. With a population of just over 800 people, it’s one of Colorado’s least populated counties (3rd least populous). True Colorado wilderness.
