Moffat County, Colorado
Moffat County is way up in the northwest corner of Colorado. Craig is the biggest town, but the whole county is pretty empty. This is serious cowboy country. There is lots of ranching and hunting.
Dinosaur National Monument is partly in the county. You can see some real dinosaur bones still in the rock.
The Yampa River is great for rafting. Moffat County is also home to Browns Park National Wildlife Refuge, a remote area known for its solitude. Winters here are cold and windy.
