Palo Pinto County, Texas

Palo Pinto County is about 75 miles west of Dallas. It’s where the prairie meets the hills. Ranching has been big here for generations. So has hunting.
The Brazos River cuts through, creating some gorgeous scenery. Possum Kingdom Lake is in the northwest of the county. Folks come from all over to boat and fish.
Mineral Wells used to be a big spa town. The “Crazy Water” springs made it famous. These days, it’s quieter. But visitors still dig the old Baker Hotel. It towers over downtown, waiting for a comeback.
