Randolph County nestles in east Alabama, bordering Georgia. Wedowee is its county seat with about 22,000 residents. Agriculture, particularly cattle and poultry, is the backbone of the economy.
The Talladega National Forest just touches the northwest edge of the county. Just the edge. It’s also close to Alabama’s highest point so there are plenty of hiking trails near.
Lake Wedowee formed by damming the Little Tallapoosa River. This lake brings in anglers and boaters from across the region. U.S. Highway 431 runs through this county.
