Wisconsin Counties

Ozaukee County stretches along Lake Michigan’s western shore, just north of Milwaukee. Port Washington is the county seat.

Pepin County is Wisconsin’s smallest county by land area. The county hugs the Mississippi River in western Wisconsin, next to Minnesota.

Pierce County is on the western edge of Wisconsin. It’s right across the St. Croix River from Minnesota. River Falls is the largest city.

The northwest corner of Wisconsin is home to Polk County. It’s where lakes and forests dominate the landscape.

Portage County sits right in the middle of Wisconsin. Stevens Point is the biggest city and is home to a University of Wisconsin campus.

Price County is up in Wisconsin’s Northwoods. It’s where the forests seem to go on forever with the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest.

Racine County borders Lake Michigan in southeast Wisconsin. This county has a bit of everything. The city of Racine is the county seat.

Rolling hills and winding rivers define Richland County in southwest Wisconsin. The Driftless Area makes some unique landscapes here.

Rock County sits on Wisconsin’s southern border with Illinois. Janesville and Beloit are the biggest cities, each with their own vibe.

The Chippewa River cuts through Rusk County in northwest Wisconsin. It’s logging country, with a history steeped in the timber industry.

Sauk County is where the Driftless Area meets the Central Plains in south-central Wisconsin. It’s home to the waterpark, Wisconsin Dells.

Sawyer County is up in the northwoods of Wisconsin. It’s where lakes and forests take center stage. The county seat is Hayward.

Shawano County is up in northeastern Wisconsin. It’s where the lakes cover the landscape. The Wolf River runs through, drawing kayakers.

Sheboygan County sits on the western shore of Lake Michigan. It’s known as the “Malibu of the Midwest” thanks to its freshwater surfing.

St. Croix County is located east of the Twin Cities. The St. Croix River forms its western border with Minnesota. Hudson is the county seat.
