Southeast Fairbanks Census Area is in interior Alaska, south and east of Fairbanks. About 7,000 people live here, spread out over a large area. Delta Junction is the biggest town.

The Alaska Highway runs through here, connecting Alaska to Canada. Farming is important, with barley and hay as main crops. The area has a mix of forests and mountains. Hunting and fishing are popular, both for food and sport.

Fort Greely Army base is a big employer. The Tanana River valley has good soil for farming. Delta Junction is known for its bison herd. Despite being rural, the area has a diverse population including Athabascan natives and more recent settlers.
