Right in the heart of Kansas, Geary County is where the Smoky Hill and Republican rivers meet. It’s located in the northeast part of Kansas
Junction City is the biggest town and county seat. It’s home to about 23,000 people and neighbors the massive Fort Riley military base. If you’re into history, check out the U.S. Cavalry Museum on Fort Riley.
Milford Lake is a hotspot for fishing and boating in the northeast. Locals call it the “Fishing Capital of Kansas.” The county goes all out for its Sundown Salute on July 4th, supposedly the state’s largest Independence Day celebration.
