Graves County, Kentucky

Graves County sits in the Jackson Purchase region of western Kentucky. The county’s big on agriculture, especially tobacco and corn.
Mayfield, the county seat, is known for its colorful Wooldridge Monuments. It’s a bunch of life-sized statues in the city cemetery. Weird? Maybe. Interesting? Definitely.
If you’re around in August, check out Fancy Farm’s picnic. It’s the state’s biggest political event, where candidates come to chat and chow down. Just watch out for flying verbal jabs and BBQ sauce.
