McPherson County is in central Kansas with the city of McPherson as the county seat. It’s doing better than a lot of rural Kansas counties.
There’s some industry here, not just farming. They make a lot of kitchen cabinets, oddly enough. The county has a mix of small towns and farmland.
There’s a small college in McPherson that brings in some young folks. Kanopolis Lake to the northwest (just outside the county) for boating and fishing. U.S. Highway 56 and Interstate 135 run through the county, which adds to its convenience.
