Osborne County, Kansas

Osborne County is where the Kansas plains stretch out and life slows down. This county sits in north-central Kansas, with Osborne as the main town. It’s mostly farmland with some prairie mixed in.
The Solomon River runs through it, which is nice for fishing. There’s good hunting but it can get pretty windy. U.S. Highway 24 runs through, so you’re never too far from anywhere.
If you’re into quirky landmarks, check out the Osborne County Courthouse. Don’t forget Meades Ranch Triangulation Station (if you’re into geodesy). It’s where NAD27 all began. I’m a cartographer so this place, it’s a key spot in mapping history.
