Smith County sits in north-central Kansas and holds the geographical center of the contiguous United States. The county seat, Smith Center, is a town with tradition and deep history.

U.S. Highway 36 slices through the county. With a population of around 3,600, Smith County is small but full of heart.

Farming is the backbone here, with wheat, corn, and cattle playing major roles. There’s a nice little museum in Smith Center if you’re into local history. The county is also takes the shape of a perfect square.
