Russell County, Alabama

On the eastern edge of Alabama, Russell County lies along the Chattahoochee River. Columbus, Georgia is just across the water.
Phenix City, the county seat, is a city with a storied past. It once was known as the “Sin City” of the South due to its wild history. Today, it’s a much quieter place.
Both U.S. Highway 431 and U.S. Highway 80 intersect here. The county’s proximity to Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning) brings a strong military presence.
