Wolfe County, Kentucky

Wolfe County is a slice of eastern Kentucky wilderness. It’s small. Only about 7,000 people call it home. The Red River Gorge cuts through part of the county.
Campton, the county seat, is your classic small town. The Swift Silver Mine is supposedly hidden somewhere in the hills. This has sparked treasure hunts for centuries.
Locals joke that there are more bears than people in some parts of the county. If you’re looking to get off the grid, Wolfe County’s your spot. Just don’t expect cell service everywhere.
