Home to part of the Red River Gorge, Powell County is located in east-central Kentucky. Stanton is the county seat, situated in the center.
One of the best things about this county is that it’s a gateway to some of the best rock climbing in the state. U.S. Route 15 runs through the county.
Powell County’s beauty attracts thousands of visitors each year, especially to spots like Natural Bridge State Resort Park. This is where a massive sandstone arch gives you panoramic views of the surrounding forest.
