Georgia Counties

Thomas County is located in southwest Georgia, along the Florida border. It was established in 1825 with a population of 45,000 residents.

Tift County sits in the heart of south Georgia, about 180 miles south of Atlanta. Tifton, the county seat, is nicknamed “The Friendly City”.

Toombs County is located in the southeastern part of the state. Lyons is the county seat, but Vidalia is world-famous for its sweet onions.

Towns County is situated in the North Georgia mountains. Hiawassee is the county seat and sits on the shores of Lake Chatuge.

Treutlen County is one of Georgia’s smaller counties, both in size and population. It sits in the east-central part of the state.

Troup County straddles the line between Georgia’s past and future with confidence. It’s near Atlanta, but it’s right on the Alabama border.

Turner County is in the middle of the state’s southern region. Ashburn, the county seat, is known as the “Peanut Capital of the World”.

Twiggs County is a place where country living is as natural to you as breathing. It’s tucked away in central Georgia, just east of Macon.

Union County is a mountain paradise in northeast Georgia. It’s where the Chattahoochee National Forest meets the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Upson County sits in west-central Georgia, about an hour south of Atlanta. Thomaston, the county seat, is the heart of the place.

Walker County sits in the northwest corner of Georgia, against the Tennessee border. Walker balances natural beauty with industrial grit.

Walton County straddles the line between Atlanta’s sprawl and Georgia’s rural heartland. It’s about an hour east of the city.

Ware County is the largest county in Georgia by land area. It’s down in the southeast corner of the state, home to the Okefenokee Swamp.

Warren County is a small, quiet corner of eastern Georgia. It’s about halfway between Augusta and Atlanta, off the beaten path.

Washington County is located in central Georgia. It’s halfway between Atlanta and Savannah, with Sandersville serving as the county seat.
