Letcher County is way out in the eastern corner of Kentucky, right on the Virginia border. With about 21,000 residents, this is a place where everyone’s story matters.
U.S. Route 119 winds through the county. Whitesburg is the county seat and has a neat little arts scene going on. The county has some serious mountains.
There are great views if you don’t mind the winding roads. Especially, people flock to the Pine Mountain Trail, where the beauty of the Appalachian Mountains is on full display.
