Logan County is out in northwest Kansas. Oakley is the county seat. It’s pretty remote out here. This is a serious farm country with lots of wheat and some cattle ranching.
The county’s claim to fame is the Fick Fossil and History Museum. They have bones of the oldest documented mosasaur skull in the world.
U.S. Highway 40 and Interstate 70 cross through the county. It has a population of just under 3,000 so not a whole lot of people. Logan County is all about wide-open spaces, small-town life, and a relaxed pace, right in the heart of western Kansas.
