Pitkin County, Colorado
Pitkin County is in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. Aspen is the main attraction here. It’s famous for skiing, but summer is gorgeous too.
The county is seriously wealthy. Lots of celebrities have homes here. The Maroon Bells are some of the most photographed mountains in the country. Snowmass Village is another big resort area.
No matter where you go, there’s great hiking, biking, and fishing all over. State Highway 82 winds through the county, offering jaw-dropping views of the surrounding peaks, especially along the Independence Pass. The population is around 18,000 people.
