Haskell County, Kansas
Haskell County is tucked away in southwest Kansas, part of the state’s High Plains region. Sublette serves as the county seat. The county’s population is small with only about 3,500 inhabitants.
It’s a farming county with mainly wheat, corn, and milo. But irrigation is key. Without it, this semi-arid land would be tough to farm. The Ogallala Aquifer makes it all possible.
It’s not an easy place to make a living, but the folks in Haskell County are proud of their home. They’ve carved out a life in a challenging landscape, and that’s something to admire.
