Union County is way out in western Kentucky, where the Ohio River makes a big bend. Morganfield is the county seat.
The county has some prime farmland. It has corn and soybeans as far as the eye can see. With a population of around 13,000 people, it’s been in a bit of decline.
The county’s history is rich, with ties to early pioneers and the Civil War, including Camp Breckinridge. This World War II-era training site is now used for historical events and reenactments.
