US Counties

Burt County is situated along the Missouri River in northeast Nebraska. Tekamah is the county seat, near Summit Lake State Recreational Area.

Butler County is in the east part of Nebraska, close to Lincoln. David City is the county seat, which is a classic small Midwestern town.

Cass County is in the eastern part of Nebraska, just south of Omaha. Plattsmouth sits right where the Platte River meets the Missouri.

Cedar County is up in the northeast corner of Nebraska, right along the Missouri River. It got its name from all its cedar trees.

Chase County sits way out in southwestern Nebraska, right up against the Colorado border. Imperial is the county seat.

Cherry County is up in north-central Nebraska. It’s huge – the largest county in the state by area. We’re talking bigger than Connecticut.

Cheyenne County sits way out in the Nebraska Panhandle, right up against the Colorado and Wyoming borders. Sidney is the county seat.

Clay County is in the south-central part of Nebraska, with Clay Center as the county seat. It’s named after Henry Clay, the famous statesman.

Colfax County sits in the eastern part of Nebraska, not too far from Omaha. It’s named after Schuyler Colfax, who was a vice president.

Eastern Nebraska is home to Cuming County, a place where agriculture reigns supreme. It is also known as the “Nebraska Livestock County”.

Custer County sits right in the middle of Nebraska, taking up a big chunk of the state’s central region. Broken Bow is the county seat.

Dakota County is in the northeast corner of Nebraska. It’s the second smallest county in the state. South Sioux City is the biggest town.

Dawes County is way up in the northwest corner of Nebraska, right in the heart of the Pine Ridge region. Chadron is the county seat.

Central Nebraska is home to Dawson County, right in the heart of the state. Lexington is the county seat here with a diverse population.

Deuel County is perched way out in western Nebraska, right on the Colorado border. Chappell is the county seat in the western region.
