Franklin County, Idaho

Franklin County sits in the southeast corner of Idaho, right up against the Utah border. Preston is the county seat, which is famous as the setting for Napoleon Dynamite. Locals are pretty tired of hearing about it.
It’s mostly rural, with small towns scattered across the valley. There is a big Mormon community here. The Bear River snakes through, providing water for the farms and ranches. The region is perfect for growing hay and raising cattle.
There’s good fishing in the reservoirs and hunting in the nearby mountains. The Oregon Trail passed through here. Folks value tradition and family. The countryside is pretty in a quiet way with rolling hills and distant mountains.
