Oneida County, Idaho

Oneida County is in southeastern Idaho, right on the Utah border. You can basically see mountains in every direction. Malad City is the county seat. It’s one of the most rural counties in Idaho.
Farming and ranching are the backbone of the economy. You’ll see lots of alfalfa fields and cattle. Malad River runs through the county. It’s not big, but it’s important for irrigation.
Early Mormon settlers named it “Oneida”, who came from that area. But the area is mostly known for its Welsh heritage. You might hear some Welsh spoken in town.
