Lincoln County, Idaho

Lincoln County sits in south-central Idaho. It’s small and rural. As you might expect, the county is named after Abraham Lincoln. Shoshone is the county seat, which is a quiet little town.
The Snake River Plain stretches out here. It’s mostly flat farmland. Irrigation changed everything. It turned desert into fields and perfect for growing potatoes and sugar beets.
The Sawtooth National Forest almost touches the northern edge, but it doesn’t. It’s a nice escape from the farmland. You’ll see a lot of old barns around here. Some still in use, others falling apart. Lincoln County is not a tourist hotspot and I’m not sure if it ever will be one.
