Clark County, Idaho
Clark County is Idaho’s least populated county, a place where cattle easily outnumber people. It’s tucked away in the eastern part of the state, bordering Montana.
Dubois is the county seat but it’s barely more than a wide spot in the road. This is high desert country, with the Beaverhead Mountains rising to the north. Ranching is the main gig here so you’ll see more cowboys than tourists.
The landscape is stark but beautiful in its own way. Harriman State Park spills over from the east. Unfortunately, the population’s been shrinking for decades.
