Fremont County, Idaho
Fremont County is tucked up in the eastern corner of Idaho, where potato fields give way to mountains. Island Park, a long volcanic valley, is the big draw.
This county is like a playground for outdoor people. It has fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, and more. Yellowstone’s just next door. The Tetons peek out to the east, looking impossibly perfect. Harriman State Park has fly fishing so good it’s almost unfair.
Ashton, famous for its dog sled races, feels like a step back in time. St. Anthony, the county seat, is all about farming and ranching. There’s a strong Mormon presence in Fremont county.
