Lemhi County, Idaho
Lemhi County is way out in east-central Idaho. It’s big, wild, and remote. The Salmon and Lemhi Rivers cut right through it. Lewis and Clark came through here on their expedition.
Outdoorsy people love it here. The Lemhi Range and the Bitterroot Mountains dominate the landscape. The Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness takes up a good chunk of the county. It’s the largest wilderness area in the lower 48 states.
Mining used to be big here. Now it’s all about ranching and tourism. Hunting, fishing, and hiking are top activities. It’s the kind of place where you can really get away from it all. Salmon is the county seat, which also has a lot of history.
