Grant County, Kansas
Grant County is out in southwest Kansas. Ulysses is the county seat. It’s pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It’s one county away from either Colorado or Oklahoma.
This is serious farm country with lots of wheat fields and cattle feedlots. You can see for miles. They pump a lot of natural gas here too.
There’s not much to do unless you’re into farming or hunting. Pheasant hunting is popular in season. The people are friendly, though. If you like wide open spaces and don’t mind the smell of cattle, Grant County might work for you.
