Lewis County is tucked away in north-central Idaho. The county is named after Meriwether Lewis of Lewis and Clark fame. Nezperce is the county seat.

Rolling prairies and forests cover the land. It’s gorgeous in the spring when everything’s green. Farmers grow wheat, barley, and lentils here. The soil’s rich and fertile.

Lawyer Creek and Big Canyon Creek form part of the county’s border. The eastern border is Clearwater River. It’s a favorite spot for fishing and rafting. The county’s history is tied to the Nez Perce tribe. You can still see their influence today. It’s quiet out here. That’s how folks like it.
