Cassia County, Idaho
Cassia County stretches across south-central Idaho, where the Snake River Plain meets the mountains. Burley, the biggest town, sits right on the Snake on the northern border. It’s farm country with lots of potatoes, sugar beets, and wheat.
The county’s split between irrigated farmland and high desert. While summers are scorching, winters are bone-chilling. Cassia County is home to City of Rocks National Reserve, a rock climber’s paradise. It looks like something out of a Western movie.
Oakley is famous for its weird stone buildings. Whereas Almo feels like a step back in time. There’s a strong outdoors culture here, including hunting, fishing, and off-roading. You’ll see a lot of big trucks with a strong Mormon presence.
